Secrets to a Great Homemade Pizza

The crust – the secret to having a perfectly baked crust with perfectly baked toppings lies not so much in the way you arrange the toppings when you put the pizza in the oven. It lies in what you do before it. What you need to do is bake the crust ahead of everything else for a few minutes, so that when you add the toppings and the sauce and you finally bake them all together, you will not end up with overcooked toppings or undercooked crust. The dough will take longer to bake than your toppings, so it’s important that they are done at the same time, and baking your crust separately first does this trick perfectly.

The sauce – the sauce is the source of the most distinct flavor of your pizza. If you want to have a tasty pizza, you have to make sure that your sauce is perfect. If you are using canned pizza sauce, make sure that it’s thick enough so you won’t end up with a soggy and bland pizza.

The toppings – you have virtually endless choices for toppings for your pizza. But you have to make sure that your toppings go along with your pizza sauce so their flavors won’t clash. Another thing to keep in mind is to drain your ingredients dry if you are using canned because if you don’t, they will make the crust soggy and can potentially ruin your pizza.

Pizza Cooking Tips

  1. Never use pre-grated cheese.
Always grate your own fresh. pre-grated cheese tends to have anti-caking agents like cellulose coating the individual pieces of grated cheese. This prevents the cheese from melting properly and it has the tendency to lack moisture.
  2. Do not cook tomato sauce for pizza.
Use ripe tomatoes and puree or crush them by hand. Another option is to use a high-quality canned tomato and crush the canned tomatoes by hand. Cooked sauces tend to be too thick and heavy. A lite layer of fresh crushed tomatoes is best.
  3. Less is more.
Do not put too many toppings on a pizza. The rule is usually three-topping to a pizza not including the sauce but it does include the cheese. Too many toppings lead to a soggy pizza. Too much moisture can ruin a great pizza crust.
  4. Pre-cook topping for your pizza.
If you like mushrooms cook, cool, and season them before making your pizza. The same for most vegetables and meats such as sausage or meatballs. This helps to reduce the amount of moisture on the pizza and allows you to season your ingredients properly.
  5. Season your dough.
Treat your pizza dough as an ingredient. Season with good olive oil and salt or a seasoning of your choice. The crust is the base for building your creation. A well-seasoned crust will start you off on the right foot.

Leftover Pizza Tips

When ready to eat leftover pizza take it out of the refrigerator and place it in a skillet that has a lid. Depending on how many pieces you have left will depend on the size of the skillet you will need. Either use a Teflon skillet or spray it with non-stick cooking spray.

Place the skillet on the stovetop and turn the burner on to medium-low heat or to number 4 and cover. Let cook covered for fifteen to twenty minutes if it’s the deep dish and if it’s the regular crust about ten to fifteen minutes should do it and last but not least the thin crust about seven minutes. Be sure and check it after about ten minutes to make sure it doesn’t burn since all pizzas aren’t equal; depending on if you have it loaded up and where you bought it or maybe you made it. Once it’s done serve warm and enjoy.

Fruit Pizza Recipes

Fruit Pizza Recipe

Pizza with fruit on the top is a fresh dessert that usually is prepared similarly to pizza. Even though fruit pizza seems likely a classic savory pizza, generally the spice is entirely different, and, contrary to ordinary pizza. The fresh fruit pizza is not very great tasting on the second day. It should be served one at a time for a fresh and delicious taste.

This special dessert is created by baking cookie dough for the crust of fruit pizza, using a creamy mixture by spreading it on the top of the cookie, and after that filling it using sliced various fresh fruits. Several cooks drizzle syrups all over their fresh fruit pizza for additional taste and color. Creating a pizza with fruit topping is interesting by asking for some help from your friends or family. Garnish the crust with fresh fruits with a unique design.

The sugar cookie dough is the greatest for a crust of fruit pizza, but you can also try another kind of cookie dough. The dough such as shortbread probably can’t be used efficiently, due to the fact it is hard to deal with them without doing chaos. Some individuals also like to keep with ordinary dough, then apply dough with additions such as fresh fruit, peanuts, a portion of oatmeal, delicious chocolate chips, and so on.

To spread the cream, people apply freezing cream cheese or mixed cream cheese usually mixed together with a slight heavy cream to do easy spreading, along with sugar to add a sweet taste. Seasonings such as vanilla, orange essence, or sweet almond essence might be mixed with the spreading cream to have a delicious and interesting fruit pizza. For a more sweet taste, you may apply chocolate gouache by spreading it on top.

Pick various fresh fruits, such as blueberries, strawberries, oranges, grapes, apples, pears, and so on. When you need to slice the fresh fruits to garnish the top, better if you extract the lemon juice to take care of getting a dark brown color.

Garnishes such as chocolate in white color or chocolate liquid (syrup), caramel gravy, or various gravy fruits can also be applied on top of fruit pizza. There is a possibility to use chocolates shaved in dressing the top of fruit pizza.

Fruit pizza is the perfect snack food or dessert for summer and the best thing about it is that you can top it with whatever fruits you like. Most fruit pizza recipes will use fruits such as bananas, strawberries, oranges, kiwis, blueberries, apricots, mangoes, pineapples, cherries, and many more. The idea is to make the pizza look as colorful and as sweet as possible while using a combination of fruits that taste when eaten together.

Fruit pizza also makes a good dessert for picnics and parties. Since you will be using a lot of fruits as topping for this type of pizza, you want to eat it as soon as possible after you arrange the fruits on it. This is because the pizza will get soggy very quickly as a result of all the natural juices from the fruits. It is highly recommended that you use fresh fruits while making this dessert.

If you plan to use canned fruits, make sure that you drain the fruits completely and blot them with a paper towel first before arranging them on the pizza. This little step will give you more time to enjoy your fruit pizza before it gets soggy from all the juices.

Although some fruit pizza recipes taste great when you glaze them or serve them with whipped cream, you might want to just eat it alone as it is if you find the glaze too sweet for you. Below are easy fruit pizza recipes that you and your family will surely find easy to prepare because the base is made from cookie dough.
